The first trailer for James Gunn’s most recent movie was described as follows at San Diego Comic-Con.
The writer-director of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, James Gunn, debuted the first image at Marvel’s Hall H panel during today’s San Diego Comic-Con, claiming that it would be the final installment in the sci-fi team’s saga. I’m sorry, but some stories have an end,” Gunn said to the audience. Not everybody dies, though.
Gamora (Zoe Saldaa), as shown in the trailer, is now collaborating with the Ravagers. Gamora has no recollection of her time spent with the Guardians. Gamora (Chris Pratt) informs Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) that the Gamora he once loved is no longer there and that she isn’t the person he once adored. Gunn’s sense of humor was evident in the trailer, though, when the other Guardians overhear Peter and Gamora’s uncomfortable conversation.
With lyrics like “Do you realize that everyone you know someday will die” having increased resonance in this final adventure for the Guardians, the epic version of The Flaming Lips’ “Do You Realize?” serves as the soundtrack for the trailer, which introduces new characters and reveals the whereabouts of our old favorites.
In terms of the new characters, the trailer gave viewers their first glimpses of Will Poulter as Adam Warlock and Chukwudi Iwuji as the High Evolutionary, who walked through the crowds in Hall H while claiming that he transforms repulsive creatures (like the audience members) into something less repulsive. He also said, “I can’t wait to dissect all of you and see what I learn!” after doing so. Cosmo the Spacedog will be portrayed by Maria Bakalova, an actress best known for her roles in the films Bodies Bodies Bodies and Borat Subsequent Moviefilm.

However, Gunn also revealed that the origin of Rocket Raccoon (voiced by Bradley Cooper) would take up a significant portion of the third Guardians movie. Gunn claimed that Rocket “has got to be the saddest creature in the universe, and that’s what this is largely about.” Pom Klementieff claims that Mantis is still quirky and peculiar and that in the new movie, she has a lot of confidence and some fighting skills. Karen Gillan claims that Nebula is now discovering herself now that Thanos is gone and that she is finding her own individuality.

Pratt, Poulter, Gillan, Klementieff, Sean Gunn (Kraglin Obfonteri), and Bakalova were present for the presentation and all of them were visibly moved by watching the trailer for the first time and (allegedly) bidding goodbye to this series of movies. Working alongside my brother has been the “most satisfying aspect of it,” according to Sean Gunn.
Kevin Feige revealed Marvel’s plans for the remainder of Phase 4, the schedule for Phase 5, teased a few of the movies coming out in Phase 6, and declared that Phases 4-6 are referred to as The Multiverse Saga. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be a part of Marvel’s Phase 5.
The Guardians of the Galaxy, who were last featured in this month’s Thor: Love and Thunder, are the subject of the May 2018 opening of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT. The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, which was filmed during Vol. 3’s production, will also feature The Guardians before Vol. 3. The Holiday Special is rumored to debut this holiday season, however it wasn’t mentioned at the Marvel Comic-Con panel. I Am Groot, which debuts on Disney+ on August 10, will also feature Groot’s own collection of animated shorts.
On May 5, 2023, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be released in theaters.
