Manga fans!! there is great news for you people. The popular post-apocalyptic series Akira (shin anime) which was made into a movie, is all set to return on streaming platforms. The movie was first released in 1989 and is rumored to be made again in the form of episodes to give you a taste of some Japanese action. The most anticipated anime is going to thrill you.

The anime was created by Otomo and Izo Hashimoto and was produced by Ryōhei Suzuki and Shunzō Katō in 1982 (manga) and was made into a movie in 1988. The series has been in a buzz as fans are demanding a full-fledged series. the release date is not mentioned yet.
Most likely the series is coming next year as the production started around two years back. The makers promise to reveal the date.
Akira Plot: What to Expect?
As the movie suggests, the story of Shotaro Kaneda, leader of a teenage biker gang, and his friend Tetsuo Shima, who develop incredible psychic powers after a government experiment has gone awry. Together they must fight against a powerful military force that is trying to control their abilities. Along the way, they discover a dark secret that could destroy the city and the world.
The series will also revolve around this plot and each episode will show the journey of Shotaro Kaneda.
