In Episode 3, Retsu Kaioh asks Tokugawa, owner of the Underground Arena, to let him fight Pickle. Tokugawa hesitates but Retsu tells him that he is willing to offer himself as food to Pickle, as he is confident in his Chinese Kenpo.

Episode 3 ended with Pickle on the floor after taking a barrage of kicks and punches from the Chinese Kenpo Master. The burning question on everyone’s mind was ‘Did Pickle actually lose to Retsu Kaioh?’

Baki Hanma Season 2 Episode 4 Review: Pickle’s Tears

Captain Strydum and Tokugawa are in shock after seeing Pickle on the floor. Dr. Albert Payne tells the duo that the fight is not over yet. He reveals that when they found Pickle, they did a lot of tests on him which revealed that Pickle is actually a quadruped.

Pickle takes his fighting pose and with full force smashes into the Chinese Kenpo Master who is not able to stay his charge. Pickle slams Retsu beyond the boundary walls of the arena and the Chinese Kenpo Master falls unconscious.

Pickle tears apart Retsu’s leg and starts to devour it. While eating it, tears flow down his face. Dr. Albert Payne sticks a needle through Pickle and saves Retsu’s life. Payne explains that even though Pickle was fighting Retsu, he sees his prey as a friend, and feels sad that he must depart them, through death.

Retsu Kaioh wakes up at the hospital to see that his leg has been amputated. He feels ashamed that he broke his promise to Pickle and that he failed to sacrifice himself if he lost. Baki visits Retsu in the hospital and offers him some words of encouragement.

Baki Hanma Season 2 Episode 4: What’s Next for Pickle?

Word spreads throughout Tokyo of Retsu Kaioh’s defeat at the hands of Pickle. Fighters everywhere are enraged, especially Katsumi Orochi, who hears the news from his father Doppo Orochi.

Meanwhile, Pickle has escaped the holding facility. The primitive man takes on the disguise of another man and is exploring the city. He is dumbfounded at the sights that he sees, which are very different from the Jurrasic era. As he is exploring the city, a truck crashes into Pickle.
