“Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever” star Danai Gurira talks to us in an exclusive interview about a potential Disney+ spin-off about Wakanda as well as “The Walking Dead” spin-off about Rick and Michonne!
- On November 9, 2022, it’s back to the Marvel universe with “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.” Ahead of the theatrical release, we got to talk exclusively to some of the film’s stars, including “The Walking Dead” fan favorite Danai Gurira, who takes on the role of Okoye in the MCU.
She has played the leader of the Dora Milaje, the private guard of the King/Queen of Wakanda, since the first “Black Panther” film. Gurira also held the role in “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers: Endgame,” and now she returns to talk about a possible spin-off about her Marvel character on Disney+.
But Danai Gurira doesn’t just have a “long-term role” with Okoye. She has also played a fan favorite for a long time in “The Walking Dead” universe with Michonne and will return in the “Rick & Michonne” spin-off. She’s looking forward to sharing the series with the world. Watch the video interview here:
We ask her at the end if the finale of “The Walking Dead” teases the “Rick & Michonne” spin-off. However, since the word teaser is mostly used as a synonym for trailer in English, Gurira elaborates that TWD doesn’t have trailers after credits or anything like that. What was meant, however, was rather a return of the characters that could reveal what will happen in the spin-off.
However, there was unfortunately not enough time to properly ask the question again. Also, Gurira gives a little insight into the series, which was to our satisfaction.
