Elizabeth Olsen REVEALS new plans for MCU ‘X-Men’

Is this the return of Scarlet Witch?

Don't miss

Elizabeth Olsen is better known as Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlett Witch. She first made an appearance as Scarlett Witch in ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ (2015). Since she also starred in ‘Captain America: Civil War’ (2016), ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ (2018), ‘Avengers: Endgame’ (2019), and ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ (2022).

Wanda Maximoff even has her miniseries, titled WandaVision (2021). The show follows Wanda Maximoff and Vision, and their life in the town of Westview, New Jersey. Elizabeth Olsen received multiple nominations, including Primetime Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award for her role in the series.

The last of Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff was seen in ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ (2022). In the movie, her mind was corrupted by the Darkhold and she believed the only way to see her children again was to find them in a different universe. Her violent nature caused her to be rejected by her children and she redeems herself by destroying every version of Darkhold in the multiverse and ends up taking her own life in the process.

Elizabeth Olsen is rumored to reprise her role of Wanda Maximoff in the upcoming ‘Agatha: Coven of Chaos’. It would be interesting to see if she makes a return as her character is currently buried under Mount Wundagore. There have been speculations that she did not die in ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ (2022) and is likely alive because of her powers.

Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch in X-Men

Wanda along with her twin brother Pietro joined the HYDRA and underwent several experiments and mutations to become the supervisions of themselves. They both joined the Avengers to stop Ultron, after learning his true intentions.

The X-Men and The Avengers are from two different universes but kind of is based on a similar idea. Bunch of Superheros working together to defeat the bad guy. And the crossover would not be something new as the groups have worked together in the past in Marvel Comics.

Elizabeth Olsen in a Q&A Panel at Comic-Con 2023 revealed her plans. She wants to continue playing the role of Wanda Maximoff. Wanda isn’t much different from the X-Men, she is a result of Mutation after being experimented on by the HYDRA.

“Oh gosh, I just want to figure out the whole mutant thing, but none of us can do anything about it. We’re not X-Men, but I would just love to explore that so much. X-Men was my first experience with superhero-type films.” said Elizabeth.
