Was Jennifer Aniston really got replaced in FRIENDS?
Aniston’s character Rachel appears to have been substituted in a scene in episode 15 of season nine, titled “The One With The Mugging,” which has drawn the attention of fans of the show this week.
In the scene, Rachel runs into Monica’s apartment to let Joey know he got an audition with Jeff Goldblum’s fake A-list actor Leonard Hayes. The camera moves to Joey after she has finished sharing the news, who is seen standing close to “Rachel.”
Fans soon realized that was actually Aniston’s stand-in and not the real Aniston who was next to LeBlanc.
Additionally, this wasn’t the first time an editing error was included in the final product.
Loyal Friends viewers noticed Rachel being replaced by a stand-in actress 12 minutes and 20 seconds into episode 4 of the same season, titled “The One With the Sharks,” earlier in the program.
Joey joins Monica and Rachel at the table as they are already seated. Rachel can be seen in the original picture with wavy hair and a yellow shirt.
However, the actress playing Rachel can be seen in the lower-left corner of the screen wearing a blue shirt and having straight hair when the camera eventually pans to Monica.
What Jennifer has to say about her reunion with her “FRIENDS”
People added Aniston confessed the reunion was more “melancholy” than she had anticipated on the Literally! With Rob Lowe’s podcast in September of that year, despite the fact that she was thrilled to see her co-stars again for the special.
She said at the time, “I think that really took us all down a lot more than we imagined. “Because you imagine that time travel will be enjoyable in your head. It turns out that time travel isn’t exactly easy. Oh, ouch.
