On the Twitter account of the anime adaptation of “Hell’s Paradise” (jap.: “Jigokuraku”) it was announced that it will be aired on Japanese TV from April 1, 2023. You can watch a new trailer further down in this article.

Hell’s Paradise Anime Simulcast at Crunchyroll

“Hell’s Paradise” is being created under the direction of director Kaori Makita (“Kakegurui Twin”) at Studio MAPPA. Akira Kindachi is penning the script, while Akitsugu Hisagi (Key Animation on “Maquia: An Immortal Love Story”) is responsible for character design.

The opening song “WORK” is by Japanese singer Ringo Sheena (theme song of “Detective Conan: The Scarlet Bullet”) and Millennium Parade. Yoshiaki Dewa (“Aquatope on white sand”) is responsible for the music composition. Crunchyroll is simulcasting the series.

The manga series of the same name is by Yuuji Kaku and was published in the “Shounen Jump +” app between January 2018 and January 2021.

The Edo period is nearing its end. Gabimaru, a shinobi formerly known as the strongest in Iwagakure and now condemned to death, learns that he will be acquitted and released if he brings the elixir of life from an island said to be the pure land of Sukhavati.

Hoping to see his beloved wife again, Gabimaru sets off for the island with the executioner Yamada Asaemon Sagiri. Once there, they meet other condemned to death in search of the elixir of life, as well as a variety of unknown creatures.
