Hunger Games actress Jennifer Lawrence sets record eating garlic before kissing Liam Hemsworth

Don't miss

Hunger Games actor Liam Hemsworth claimed that Jennifer Lawrence would purposefully consume pungent food before sequences in which their characters kissed. Jennifer Lawrence is putting that accusation to rest. All of this stems from Hemsworth’s appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” in 2014, during which he related a story about working with Lawrence.

When she played Katniss Everdeen, the determined archer fighting for her life in the Hunger Games series, an adaptation of the bestselling young adult novels by Suzanne Collins, the actress Jennifer Lawrence first came to the attention of audiences in the independent film Winter’s Bone in 2010. However, she didn’t achieve star-level status until then.

With its captivating plot, “The Hunger Games,” which made its premiere in 2012, captured the attention of viewers everywhere. Lawrence portrays the brave Katniss Everdeen, who agrees to participate in the games as a tribute after her sister Prim is selected. In the dystopian future depicted in the movie, the Capitol forces districts to choose male and female Tributes to compete in the Hunger Games, a public combat to the death.

How Liam Hemsworth and Jennifer Lawrance react to their kissing scenes in Hunger Games

In the film, Lawrence’s character and Liam Hemsworth’s Gale Hawthorne have a strong emotional connection that leads to multiple on-screen kisses. In a 2014 appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Hemsworth admitted that he frequently felt uneasy while kissing Lawrence. “Any time I had to kiss Jennifer was pretty uncomfortable,” he joked. One of my closest pals is her. I cherish her. She would make a point of eating something awful before a kissing session though, like tuna fish or garlic.

On a recent episode of the YouTube series Hot Ones from First We Feast, Lawrence did, however, respond to these assertions. She added that she wasn’t intentionally trying to make Hemsworth uncomfortable during the kissing sequences with her food selections. She insisted, “It wasn’t deliberate. We kissed after it was just what I was consuming. She continued jokingly, “He should just get over it,” in reference to Hemsworth, with a hint of humour.

According to People, Lawrence clarifies the situation, making it abundantly apparent that any discomfort caused by the garlic during their on-screen kissing was totally accidental. The co-stars’ fun banter only strengthens the friendship they formed while working together on the “The Hunger Games” trilogy. Despite any unpleasant situations, their friendship persisted outside of the set, underscoring the connection they developed while playing their cherished characters.
