Outlander Season 7 will introduce the Hunter siblings, who fans of the novel have long known well. More about the new characters and their role in the series.
- Outlander Season 7 is currently being filmed, with no less than 16 new episodes waiting for you in 2023.
- Among them are the Hunter siblings, who will join Ian and William in Season 7.
- More about the Hunters and their cast is revealed.
Anyone who has read Diana Gabaldon’s “Outlander” novels naturally knows in advance which new characters to expect in the coming seasons. In season 7, we can now expect the first appearance of Rachel and Dr. Denzell Hunter.
As Quakers, the Hunters long for a peaceful life, which of course has become difficult at the time of the War of Independence. In season 7, we get to know the Hunters when Ian shows up at their farm with a sick and wounded William and asks for their help.
As a surgeon who studied medicine in both Boston and London, Dr. Hunter (Joey Phillips) can naturally help William. He also wants to help the army with his skills, even though as a Quaker he is against the war.
Racher Hunter (Izzy-Meikle Small), on the other hand, seems modest and reserved, but there is a fire in her with which she will attract the interest of William and Ian. William, Jamie’s illegitimate son, is already an adult in season 7 and is played by Charles Vandervaart.
Since filming on “Outlander” Season 7 has already been underway for several months, nothing should stand in the way of the new episodes starting in the spring of 2023. After the shortened 6th season, fans can now even look forward to 16 new episodes.
Outlander Season 7: Release date

Filming for the 7th season of “Outlander” is already underway. This is basically a good sign and under normal circumstances would suggest that the new episodes may be released as early as fall 2022.
Now, however, season 7 comprises 16 episodes, which of course makes filming much longer. Thus, a start in the spring of 2023 is more likely, so just under a year after the start of the 6th season. An official date will probably be in the second half of 2022 at the earliest.
You will also have to wait a while for a trailer, it will probably only appear a few weeks before the release of the new episodes.
Outlander Season 7: Storyline

Since season 6 of “Outlander” was shorter due to the Corona pandemic and only included 8 episodes, season 7 still has to deal with certain sections from the 6th “Outlander” novel “A Breath of Snow and Ashes”. After the season 6 finale, Claire is in prison and is believed to be a murderer. Can she prove her innocence?
Large portions of Season 7 will, of course, be based on “Echo of Hope,” the seventh book by Diana Gabaldon. Showrunner Matthew B. Roberts reveals to U.S. magazine Entertainment Weekly, “We can’t wait to get back into the writers’ room.”
In “Echoes of Hope,” Claire and Jamie find themselves in the midst of the American Revolution, while Brianna and her family live in Lallybroch in the 1970s. But they are soon caught up in the past again. In the series, however, the Mackenzies haven’t traveled to the future, so there may be some deviations from the book in their storyline.
Lord John Grey and his stepson William are also involved in the revolution, but fight on the British side. With Ian, things get exciting in love matters.
