Remake of The Office: Reboot of popular comedy hit probably already in the works

Don't miss

It hasn’t been officially announced yet, but apparently it’s already in the works: The US version of the comedy hit “The Office” is to get a reboot.

From 2005 to 2013, Michael Scott (Steve Carell) and his colleagues in “The Office” really put a strain on our laughing muscles. The U.S. remake of the British original of the same name has always enjoyed great popularity. Now that the series has ended a decade ago, work on a reboot has been confirmed, according to Puck (via ScreenRant).

Even before the end of the U.S. version of “The Office,” many fans wondered whether the successful format, which found its own interpretation in this country with “Stromberg,” might one day be relaunched. While there has been no official announcement yet, an article listing all the productions that will be announced after the Hollywood strikes end talks about “The Office” reboot.

No information has yet been shared about the cast of the reboot, but one “The Office” veteran who was behind the camera for the entire series is expected to return. This is Greg Daniels, who was responsible for 188 of the 201 episodes as a screenwriter and showrunner, as well as directing 13 episodes.

These “The Office” stars could return for the reboot

Greg Daniels has been both optimistic and pessimistic about “The Office” reboot in the past, but when he spoke hopefully about a revival, he revealed how he would approach it. According to him, the reboot would be set in the same world, but would focus on different characters. However, this does not rule out the possibility that some familiar faces from “The Office” could be seen in the new version, at least as part of one or two guest appearances.

Of the old “The Office” cast, for example, John Krasinski (played Jim Halpert) and Mindy Kaling (played Kelly Kapoor) have spoken positively about a return. Provided the circumstances are right, these two stars of the US original would be open to a comeback. Other actors and actresses may comment on the chances of “The Office” returning in the near future, once the project has been officially announced. Until then, you can pass the time with the nine seasons of the US original, which you can stream with the Sky Q combo package.
