Sorcery, demons, and dark magic are just acronyms for this fantasy series, The Witcher Season 3. Fans waiting to see Geralt back in some action and Yennefer gaining her magic back had already been a fan’s wish come true. Now that Ciri gets the center stage in most of the episodes, the series takes a back seat to make the audience see how life takes a turn when Geralt pauses running around like a vagabond and for the first time needs to protect one loved.
Yennefer and Ciri Bond
Towards the first half of episode 1 The Witcher Season 3., Geralt, Ciri, and Yennefer tries to find a place where Ciri can be kept hidden from hunter and elves. Yennefer and Geralt train Ciri to take control of her magic and learn the ways of the witchers. They are constantly seen traveling from cottage on the south side of the continent and later inhabited by Geralt dwarf friends on the eastern side of the continent.
Yennefer and Geralt are struggling to keep each other out of trouble and getting closer till the time is right. In the meantime, Yennefer teaches Ciri to cast spells, turning dry trees full of leaves, and taking control of water and other elements on earth. Ciri being a teenager growing into a woman, tries to find a path but her power is as stubborn as she is.
As Geralt tries to keep things low, Yennefer and Ciri bond like two sisters, and for the first time the White wolf smiles that too with relief. The love birds share notes but are not talking to each other.
Elves and Nilfguard waging war to get Ciri
Francesca, the elf leader, is now desperate to get Cirilla of Cintra as she holds the power to keep elves safe from any oppression and wages to wipe off human race. She has found alliance with Cahir who is trying to manipulate the community for his own honor. She is determined that not only Ciri will bring peace to the elves but gift her a child which was killed by Nilfguards.
Yennefer and Geralt have to find some way to keep Ciri safe but every time they face some or other danger they almost get killed. Rience is back with his alliance with someone more powerful than any other and sets to captivate Ciri but Geralt broke off those hands. After much consideration, Yennefer gets Ciri to Arentuza to learn to control magic from Tissaia. Ciri runs from Yennefer’s and is reunited with dead soldiers who traveled from the portal she open in Kaer Morhen.
Mysteries creatures and visions Ciri gets haunts her and she wishes to stop the war that spill bloods of human, elves and Elder.
A Power more powerful
Towards the end of the last episode The Witcher Season 3, Yennefer and Geralt find a hint as to who is this mage more powerful than Rience that needs Ciri for her revival. The fifth episode of The Witcher Season 3 ends, by keeping us on edge as to who is this and what she wants. Only someone who is non-existent but holds to a host hides. The annual conclave at the fortress is halted by a man helping this mage and his puppet to get hold of Ciri.
Towards the end, The Witcher season 3 is an absolute heart-wrecking and breathtaking event that will blow your mind. It makes us addicted to knowing what will happen next. From the start to the end, the series keeps its spectators gripping their seats as to what next will happen. What will happen in The Witcher Season 3 Vol-2 is a big question to be answered. Will Ciri be again trailed to death? Yennefer and Geralt stop this mage? Endless questions are running on our minds.
Out of 5, we would rate The Witcher season 3 Vol-1, a 5. An absolute delight and thriller.
