The Witcher on Netflix: Who plays Triss Merigold in the fantasy series?

Don't miss

Triss Merigold in The Witcher: Fans of The Witcher video games and novels appear to finally be receiving their dream with the Netflix series after waiting years for a top-notch film or television version. Despite some significant deviations from the novels and games, the Henry Cavill-led Witcher adaptation is receiving favourable reviews from critics and viewers. The first season also appears to be off to a great start.

Although Triss Merigold’s character had significant changes, fans of the video game may have also recognized them. Ciri’s changes first drew most of the attention. Due to her pivotal involvement in the first two Witcher games, Triss is a beloved figure in the video game community; however, some of the character modifications may not sit well with those who only know her through CD Projekt Red’s adaptations.

However, the character’s alterations outside of her outward look are much more intriguing. Triss’s quantity of screen time and her relationship to Geralt will leave game fans who watch the show in anticipation of that dynamic feeling pretty let down. So, who is playing Triss Merigold? Well, let’s find out.

Who will be seen as Triss Merigold in the upcoming season of The Witcher?

Triss Merigold, a gifted witch who is both Geralt of Rivia’s (Henry Cavill) ally and love interest, has been cast in Netflix’s The Witcher television series by Anna Shaffer (Harry Potter). Along with a first look at Cavill dressed as Geralt, complete with a plush silver wig, the TV show’s complete cast roster was also made public.

Shaffer, a London native, originated the role of the smitten Romilda Vane in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. She returned to the role in The Deathly Hallows: Parts 1 and 2 as well. She also has a recurring part in Hollyoaks, a British soap drama, and she made an appearance in Class, a Doctor Who spinoff.

According to the Netflix Poland’s Twitter, Shaffer’s casting was announced. The Witcher will also feature Anya Chalotra as Yennefer of Vengerberg, a formidable witch and another of Geralt’s loves, and Freya Allan as the sassy princess Ciri.
