“Young Royals” still returns to Netflix in 2022 with a 2nd season. Now we know at least in which month we can look forward to the new episodes. It takes longer than expected.
Young Royals Season 2: Release Date
There is no exact start date yet. But Netflix already announced with a photo that the new episodes will start in November 2022. Based on Netflix’s usual one-year rhythm, the new episodes should have been released in July 2022. So you’ll have to be patient a little longer.
Young Royals Season 2: Plot
In season 1, August released a sex tape of Wilhelm and Simon, after which their relationship fell apart pretty quickly. Wilhelm was convinced to deny his involvement in order to protect his family, but in doing so he also betrayed Simon.
In the season one finale, Wilhelm asks Simon if they can continue to be together in secret, as a public relationship would damage the Crown’s reputation. But this is not enough for Simon and he ends the relationship.
However, it is clear that the two still have feelings for each other. So in season 2 we can look forward to some conflicts between Wilhelm and Simon, but probably also between Wilhelm’s desire and his sense of duty.
In addition, there will probably be a confrontation between Wilhelm and August, since Wilhelm learned from Felice what August did. Moreover, since Sara and August made out at the end of season 1, there is a possibility that the two could become a couple in the new episodes.

Also in season 2 of “Young Royals” (almost) all previous actors should return. In any case, Edvin Ryding will be back as Prince William.
Also likely to return are Omar Rudberg as Simon, Malte Gårdinger as August, Frida Argento as Sara, Nikita Uggla as Felice, Pernilla August as Queen Kristina, Nathalie Varli as Madison and Carmen Gloria Pérez as Linda.
One actor who might not return is Ivar Forsling as Crown Prince Erik. This one had died in season 1. However, the influence he had on Wilhelm was enormous. So it is quite possible that Erik could return in the second season for some flashbacks.
